KARA member Park Gyulee will step down from a radio show she has hosted for close to a year and a half with Super Junior member Shindong.
A press release by Park's agency DSP Media said on Monday that the female singer, also leader of her quintet, will leave MBC's radio show "Shindong, Park Gyu-lee's Sim Sim Tapa" on October 2.
"She has had great love for the show but judged that her increased activities overseas could disrupt it," the official said of the reason for Park's departure.
Park has to take part in the Japan performances for musical "200 Pounds Beauty" starting early October and KARA is set to go overseas more often for their singing career which has been highly successful in Japan.
Accordingly, Shindong will host the show alone until producers find a replacement for Park, the statement added.
In the meantime, KARA has enjoyed a successful return to the local music scene with their third full-length album "STEP" whose title track of the same name has swept online charts and televised music programs.
