K-pop female group KARA's Japanese singles have recorded the most downloads in Japan amongst Korean artists.
September data on the website of the official Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) showed that
KARA's Japanese singles have accumulated about a total 3.7 million downloads including ringtones and digital singles.
KARA's debut single "Mister" brought in over 1.7 million downloads followed by their second single "Jumping" which scored about 1.2 million downloads while "Jet Coaster Love" and "GO GO SUMMER" both achieved 350,000 downloads.
KARA, composed of members Gu Hara, Han Seung-yeon, Park Gyu-lee, Kang Ji-young and Nicole, is currently one of the most successful Korean girl groups to break into the Japanese market.
The girls have sold over 100,000 copies of their Japanese singles in just a week of their release and have claimed several titles on Japan's prestigious Oricon chart.
In the meantime, KARA will release their fifth Japanese single titled "Winter Magic" on October 19 while in Korea the girls are busy promoting their third full-length album "STEP."
