BEAST captures No. 1 spot on Mnet show with 'Fiction'

Boy band BEAST has claimed first place on music cable channel Mnet’s live music show with their newest title song “Fiction” for the final week of May. The male group which was honored with a trophy yesterday, just a week after their comeback to the local music scene, expressed their gratitude first to the president and the staff of their agency Cube Entertainment and then to their composers and choreographers including Shinsa Dong Tiger, their parents and their official fan club B2UTY. This week’s winner “Fiction” which is a sentimental dance piece, about a guy who creates a happy fiction in his head in contrast to his reality where he has broken up with his lover, is the title track to the group’s first regular album “Fiction and Fact” released on May 17. It has already scored the No. 1 spot on a number of real-time music charts including Naver, Cyworld, Daum, Bugs, Mnet, Dosirak and Soribada upon its release last week. Meanwhile, girl group 2NE1’s ballad “Lonely” came second followed by another ballad “Average” by songstress Baek Ji-young, third on the chart.
