The "Gwanak Love Gift Certificate" will be issued from 3 p.m. on February 4, with a total value of 13 billion won. The popular "payback event" from last year will continue this year, allowing users to receive 2% of their spending in the following month as a mobile gift certificate. Both gift certificates may end early if the allocated budget is exhausted.
The gift certificates can be purchased through the "Seoul Pay+" app. The Gwanak Love Gift Certificate can be purchased up to 500,000 won per month (with a holding limit of 1.5 million won), and the Gwanak Ddaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate up to 200,000 won per month (with a holding limit of 1 million won).
Since its launch in 2020, a total of 238.9 billion won worth of Gwanak Love Gift Certificates have been issued as of the end of last year. Both gift certificates issued last year were sold out early.
Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, stated, "I hope this will provide practical help to both small business owners and consumers who are struggling due to the economic downturn," adding, "We will strengthen our role as a priming force for local consumption and further solidify the foundation of the local economy for people's livelihoods."
