Joint Meeting of the Women's Friendly City Council and Citizen Participation Group Held in Yangsan on November 24
On November 24, Yangsan City, South Gyeongsang Province, held a joint meeting of the Women's Friendly City Council and the Citizen Participation Group in the main conference room at City Hall, with over 50 members from both groups in attendance.
This meeting featured presentations from outstanding teams of the Women's Leadership Academy, a review of the 2025 achievements and the 2026 business plan for the Women's Friendly City initiative, and a 2025 performance report by Yang Seonghee, head of the Citizen Participation Group. The participants shared the accomplishments of the Women's Friendly City projects over the past year and discussed plans for the upcoming year.
In 2026, Yangsan City plans to actively strengthen the foundation for gender equality policies, enhance support for shared childcare centers and public daycare centers to address gaps in care, implement projects such as creating safe parks and providing portable safety bells to improve community safety, and promote gender equality initiatives that guarantee women's participation in society.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "We have once again confirmed that creating a childcare environment that enables work-family balance, building a safe urban environment for all citizens including the socially vulnerable, and fostering a culture that pursues harmony and equality between genders are the goals of a Women's Friendly City and the vision our city aspires to." He expressed his gratitude for the efforts toward this initiative and pledged to actively pursue even more advanced Women's Friendly City projects.
