The "2025 Mokpo Port Festival," hosted by Mokpo City in South Jeolla Province from September 26 to 28 around the Samhakdo area, concluded successfully with an enthusiastic response from both citizens and tourists.

This year's festival featured the "Marine Fish Market Pasi," where autumn seafood such as jumbo shrimp, deokja, butterfish, and hairtail was sold through on-site auctions, recreating the lively atmosphere of the port. Citizens and tourists experienced the Pasi culture firsthand by winning fresh seafood at affordable prices.

A newly introduced signature program, the "Citizen Fishing Competition," attracted many participants with a lure fishing contest targeting black sea bream. Families especially enjoyed the hands-on jumbo shrimp catching experience for children. Seafood caught on-site was prepared on the spot at the "Grill Station" and "Surakkan," offering a unique culinary experience.

At night, attractions such as the "Media Art Tunnel," "Wish Candlelight," and "Ocean Moonlight Cinema" added a romantic ambiance to the port, while the "Port Book Bar" became a popular cultural space for visitors to relax with cocktails.

This year's festival also improved transparency and hygiene in food operations. The introduction of POS systems, operation of the "Anti-Overcharging Center," and expanded use of reusable containers enhanced trust. In addition, the expansion of temporary restrooms, nursing rooms, and rest areas, increased shuttle bus services, and the use of drones and CCTV monitoring significantly improved convenience and safety, earning high praise.

An official from the city stated on September 30, "This festival showcased change and potential through a variety of new initiatives," adding, "Next year, we will strengthen our signature programs and address any shortcomings to deliver an even more complete festival."
