Fine Dust Levels Remain "Good"
On Tuesday, September 23, which is the autumn equinox, the weather across the country will be mostly cloudy with rain expected in some areas.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the rain will begin in Jeju Island in the morning, then expand to the southern coast late at night, and spread nationwide from September 24 to 25. Over the three-day period, expected precipitation is 30 to 80 millimeters in the five West Sea islands and the Jeolla region (over 100 millimeters in some areas), 20 to 60 millimeters in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, the Chungcheong region, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do (over 80 millimeters in some areas), 10 to 60 millimeters in Jeju Island, and 10 to 40 millimeters in Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
The highest daytime temperatures are forecast to range from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius. As of 5 a.m., the current temperatures are as follows: Seoul 19.6 degrees, Incheon 20.4 degrees, Suwon 19.4 degrees, Chuncheon 16.5 degrees, Gangneung 16.9 degrees, Cheongju 19.2 degrees, Daejeon 18.8 degrees, Jeonju 18.9 degrees, Gwangju 19.7 degrees, Jeju 23.1 degrees, Daegu 17.0 degrees, Busan 20.5 degrees, Ulsan 18.7 degrees, and Changwon 19.9 degrees.
Fine dust concentrations will remain at a "good" level nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Wave heights in the sea are expected to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the coastal waters of the East and South Seas, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the coastal waters of the West Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights will reach 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea.
