The 'Yeongdeok Youth Taste Discovery Team Deokmingout' is a regionally tailored exploration program designed to help local teenagers explore various career paths and gain on-site experience through conversations with professionals in the field. This year, the program was held four times under the themes of 'space,' 'art,' 'history,' and 'maritime.'

The fourth exploration, themed 'Maritime,' provided 11 middle and high school students from Yeongdeok with an opportunity to visit Busan, experience the field of marine science and technology, and broaden their imagination about future careers.

The participants visited the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), Sea Life Busan Aquarium, and the National Science Museum of Busan in sequence.

At KIOST, they toured research facilities, listened to explanations about career paths in the marine field, and gained a deeper understanding of the future of marine science technology and related professions.

At Sea Life Busan Aquarium, they observed the ecology of marine life in the exhibition hall and attended a career seminar conducted by a professional aquarist, where they heard vivid stories about marine life management, aquarium operations, relevant academic majors, and real-world employment. At the National Science Museum of Busan, they explored various scientific fields by viewing and participating in exhibitions and hands-on activities on topics such as marine science, space, and the environment.

One teenager who participated in the fourth 'Deokmingout' said, "It was very beneficial to have the opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges and future visions of professionals in their workplaces, and it broadened my interest and understanding in fields I was unfamiliar with. It also made me consider my career path from a different perspective."

A representative from the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation stated, "Through this maritime exploration, Yeongdeok teenagers were able to see the sea they encounter every day from a new perspective of science and career development. We will continue to offer various on-site explorations so that young people can discover their own interests and potential."

The final fifth 'Deokmingout' exploration is scheduled to take place in November 2025 under the theme of 'robots' at the National Science Museum of Korea in Daejeon and KAIST.

This program is intended for teenagers interested in future technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics. Detailed information and participant recruitment will be announced later on the Yeongdeok Culture and Tourism Foundation website.
