Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Cho Ikmun) has joined hands with the Honam Railway Vehicle Maintenance Team of Korea Railroad Corporation (Team Leader Kang Hwanryong) to strengthen technical capabilities in the railway vehicle sector and contribute to the development of the local community.


On June 8, Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced that it had recently signed a business agreement for mutual cooperation and co-growth in the railway vehicle sector with the Honam Railway Vehicle Maintenance Team of Korea Railroad Corporation at the headquarters of Gwangju Transportation Corporation in Maruk-dong, Seo-gu.


Through this agreement, the two organizations have pledged comprehensive and effective cooperation to respond to the rapidly changing transportation environment and vehicle systems. The areas of cooperation include mutual exchange of information on vehicle maintenance technology, joint operation of education and training programs as well as workshops for professionals, and the discovery and research of joint projects to strengthen technological competitiveness.


President Cho Ikmun stated, "I expect this agreement to serve as an opportunity to further enhance the technological capabilities and safety of Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit," and added, "We will continue to provide the best transportation services and strive to become a public corporation trusted by citizens."


Meanwhile, the corporation recently demonstrated its outstanding field-oriented technical capabilities externally by successfully completing the operation control and maintenance project for the Seoul Sillim Line light rail, which had been carried out over the past four years.
