Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) delivered emergency relief supplies to Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk, a sister city, on March 28 to support victims affected by the wildfire and to aid in the rapid recovery of the area.

This support was initiated following Cheongsong-gun's request, with the district deciding on March 26 to urgently provide relief supplies.

The district secured 6,000 bottles of 300ml bottled water and 1,500 cup noodles, which were directly delivered to the Cheongsong-gun Office. A delegation of seven members, led by Deputy Mayor Kim Ki-hyun of Dongdaemun-gu, visited the site and met with Vice Governor Lee Seung-taek of Cheongsong-gun to share information about the damage.

Deputy Mayor Kim Ki-hyun stated, “As a sister city, we quickly proceeded with this support to share the pain of Cheongsong-gun,” and added, “We will continue to cooperate for damage recovery and the restoration of daily life.”

Meanwhile, to pray for the wildfire suppression and to mourn the victims, the district has set up and is operating the first joint memorial altar among Seoul’s autonomous districts in the district office plaza since March 26. The memorial altar will be open until March 30, allowing any residents to freely visit and pay their respects.
