Bit & Electronics Develops 25G C-band Long-Distance Transmission Technology... "Surpassing DWDM Network Limits"

Bitgwa Electronics announced on the 13th that it has developed an optical module enabling long-distance transmission in the 25G C-band.

DWDM, which has become a core technology in optical communication networks, is widely used in various fields such as mobile communications, metro networks, backhaul, and data centers. DWDM technology plays a crucial role in maximizing network capacity by allowing multiple optical signals to be transmitted simultaneously over a single optical fiber.

The 25G C-band DWDM SFP module developed by Bitgwa Electronics applies EDC technology at the receiver to compensate for dispersion and ISI data distortion occurring during optical fiber transmission. This has successfully extended the transmission distance to over 30 km.

Additionally, it features maintaining the compact SFP package, providing perfect compatibility with existing systems. While maintaining high integration with the small SFP module, the transmission distance has been extended more than twice compared to previous products, and power consumption remains at a level equivalent to existing products, securing energy efficiency as well.

A representative from Bitgwa Electronics stated, "It is expected that network performance can be significantly improved while reducing additional cost burdens since it can be applied without replacing existing equipment." They added, "Furthermore, this technology is anticipated to be utilized in various fields such as inter-data center connections, long-distance backhaul networks, metro networks, and mobile networks."
