Jeollanam-do and the Jeonnam Tourism Organization announced on the 11th that the large international cruise ship 'Norwegian Sky,' carrying 2,861 passengers, will dock at Yeosu International Cruise Port on the 12th.

The 'Norwegian Sky' of the American cruise company Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is a vessel of approximately 77,000 tons, with 2,001 Western foreign tourists and 860 crew members on board. The tourists will enjoy sightseeing in the areas of Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. before returning to the ship.

To promote the charms of Jeonnam, Jeollanam-do, the Jeonnam Tourism Organization, and Yeosu City will host welcome and farewell performances, operate a Korean calligraphy experience booth, and run souvenir sales booths featuring products such as Yeosu Bangpung Gim.

The disembarked tourists will tour around 10 attractions in groups, including Odongdo, Boseong Green Tea Fields, Gwangyang Maehwa Festival Venue, and Seonamsa. In particular, about 400 tourists will enjoy individual tours using shuttle buses circulating around Yeosu.

Including this arrival, a total of eight cruises and about 10,000 visitors are expected to enter this year.

Yoo Hyunho, Director of Tourism and Sports at Jeollanam-do, said, "To ensure the successful hosting of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo, we are promoting the revitalization of cruise tourism centered on Yeosu Port, one of Korea's top five cruise ports," and added, "We will continue to invigorate the local tourism industry through active marketing and the development of customized tourism products for cruise tourists."
