Gyeonggi Province will conduct preliminary consulting ahead of the Old Downtown Urban Regeneration Project competition.
On the 11th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will carry out preliminary consulting ahead of the '2025 Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Project' competition, an urban regeneration project for declining old downtown areas led by resident communities proposing various ideas suited to local conditions.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Urban Regeneration Support Center will provide step-by-step customized consulting through an urban regeneration advisory group composed of 75 experts in various fields, including the 1st face-to-face, 2nd on-site, and 3rd comprehensive consulting sessions before the competition in April.
Kim Tae-su, Director of Urban Regeneration at Gyeonggi Province, said, "We expect positive effects in deriving the optimal project plan that enhances the effectiveness of the Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Project through this preliminary consulting," adding, "We will strive to present practical solutions tailored to the characteristics of each region so that better environments and opportunities can be provided to residents."
Meanwhile, as a result of a survey on the demand for preliminary consulting for this year's competition projects conducted by Gyeonggi Province, 14 sites in 12 cities and counties applied. By project stage, the applicant areas are ▲ 8 sites in the 'Foundation Building Stage' preparing for urban regeneration ▲ 5 sites in the 'Project Implementation Stage' where the capabilities of project participants are established ▲ 1 site in the 'Sustainable Operation Stage' requiring additional supplementary environmental improvements after the urban regeneration project has ended.
