Selected as an Excellent Autonomous District for Seoul Health Center Project for 2 Consecutive Years
Operating the Elderly Health Management Hub - Health Longevity Center to Support Healthy Aging
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has achieved the great feat of being selected as an excellent autonomous district for two consecutive years in the ‘Health Center Project Best Practices Contest’ hosted by Seoul City.
Seoul City has been discovering best practices in health center projects that contribute to solving community health issues through health projects reflecting regional characteristics. This year, Geumcheon-gu Bakmi Health Center’s ‘Senior Health Management Hub - Operation of the Health Longevity Center’ was selected as an excellent case.
The district operates three regional Health Longevity Centers in health centers, Bakmi Health Center, and Doksan Health Center to provide integrated senior health management centered on regional hubs in preparation for a super-aged society.
The Health Longevity Center at Bakmi Health Center, which is in the second region, hired a Safe Primary Care Team and rearranged the workspace to establish a foundation for integrated senior health management.
The center provided demand-oriented customized one-on-one health management services targeting seniors aged 65 and over and health-vulnerable groups. The Safe Primary Care Team, composed of doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists, visited the homes of the subjects directly to support customized medical care.
In addition, to promote sustainable and healthy aging, the center operates advanced classes for chronic disease prevention and nutrition and exercise classes for healthy longevity. In the second half of the year, the ‘Easy Well Life’ program was newly established, offering nutrition menus (Easy), lectures on senior health management (Well), and exercise classes (Life).
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “The selection as a best practice in the health center project is a result of Geumcheon-gu’s continuous interest in senior health management services and providing community-based health management services. We will continue to do our best in operating health centers and Health Longevity Centers to help residents with their health issues close to them.”
In 2023, Bakmi Health Center’s ‘Neighborhood Resident Health Connection Project’ was selected as a best practice in the health center project, marking the district’s second consecutive year of receiving the award.
