Former district mayors of Seoul have attracted attention as they have been consecutively appointed as standing auditors of government-invested institutions.

Park Chun-hee, former mayor of Songpa District during the 5th and 6th local government terms, received his appointment letter on the 18th and began his duties as the standing auditor of the Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation.

During his tenure, former Mayor Park contributed to regional development by establishing a postpartum care center and a book museum in Songpa District. After stepping down as mayor, he also ran for the National Assembly representing Songpa Byeong district in the 22nd general election.

Additionally, Jeong Song-hak, former mayor of Gwangjin District during the 4th local government term, was appointed as the standing auditor of the Korea Local Finance Association in March this year. Auditor Jeong previously served as the standing auditor of the Korea Asset Management Corporation in 2015, thus earning the honor of serving twice as a standing auditor in government-invested institutions.
