9 Cities and Counties, 21 Companies Finally Selected
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province announced on the 23rd that it has designated 21 companies in 9 cities and counties within the province as new preliminary social enterprises.
The designation of preliminary social enterprises is based on the Social Enterprise Promotion Act and applies to companies that have a certain organizational form and use their main purpose to achieve social objectives.
From the 4th of last month for fifteen days, the province selected a total of 21 companies through on-site inspections and face-to-face committee evaluations of companies that applied for the public contest.
The selected companies are ▲ Gyeonro Co., Ltd. and World Chemical Co., Ltd. (Chuncheon City) ▲ Korea Public Transportation Information Co., Ltd., Site Class Co., Ltd., Wonju Culture and Tourism Cooperative Mujigae, Howis Co., Ltd., Team Crow Co., Ltd., CID Company Co., Ltd., Social Therapy Workroom Co., Ltd. (Wonju City) ▲ Culture and Arts Content Mac Co., Ltd., The Root Company Co., Ltd., Haenaem Co., Ltd., Social Cooperative Village Itda, Beauty Health Sonkil Co., Ltd., Solhyang Cafe Clean Co., Ltd. (Gangneung City) ▲ Maum Sseuim Co., Ltd. (Taebaek City) ▲ Dogye Glass Craft Cooperative (Samcheok City) ▲ Social Cooperative Saekki-jul (Hongcheon County) ▲ Gibujo-eun Co., Ltd. (Yeongwol County) ▲ Pyeongchang All Food Co., Ltd. Agricultural Corporation (Pyeongchang County) ▲ Bunker 38 Point 1 Co., Ltd. Agricultural Corporation (Yangyang County).
These companies will receive benefits such as eligibility to apply for financial support projects for (preliminary) social enterprises, including job creation projects, business development expenses, social insurance premiums, and facility support projects, as well as management consulting support and priority purchase by public institutions for three years from the date of designation as preliminary social enterprises.
Jeon Gil-tak, Director of the Economic Bureau, said, "We will do our best to support the designated preliminary social enterprises so that they contribute to the win-win development of the local community by providing social services and jobs to vulnerable groups, improving the quality of life of local residents, and greatly helping to revitalize the social economy."
