[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University has been finally selected as the operating institution for the ‘2022 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project’ organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency.
Dongseo University has participated in this program since 2019 and was selected as the operating institution for the 2021 project.
The International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project is a program that supports exchange activities among multinational university students to strengthen global competencies and enhance the understanding of Korean culture, history, and industry among international students residing in Korea, thereby promoting friendship between countries.
Dongseo University is conducting this project under the theme ‘Asia Global Hub Busan: Together for the 2030 Busan World Expo.’ A total of 60 students, 30 Korean and 30 international students enrolled at the university, will participate in the program.
The program will begin recruiting participants in September this year and will carry out full-scale exchange activities until October.
Participants will establish and implement country-specific overseas promotional plans for the successful bid of the 2030 Busan World Expo, which will be finalized in 2023.
As a university located in the Busan area, Dongseo University will actively support cooperation among government, industry, and academia to address Busan city’s key issue of attracting the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Han Kyung-ho, Director of the International Office at Dongseo University, said, “We will strengthen exchanges and teamwork among multinational students through various programs such as cultural experiences and visits to local industrial sites,” adding, “We will actively promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo and do our best to successfully operate the 2022 International Youth Leader Exchange Support Project.”
