Cultural Program 'Cheer Up Eunpyeong! Today and Tomorrow' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will hold the cultural program "Cheer Up Eunpyeong! Today and Tomorrow" from the 29th to the 31st to heal the bodies and minds of residents exhausted by COVID-19 through culture, revitalize the local cultural and arts scene and economy, and create cultural and artistic jobs.

This online program offers a brief cultural healing from the stagnated daily life due to COVID-19 and aims to invigorate local arts and culture as well as the local economy through participation in various events.

First, a non-face-to-face ontact performance titled "Let's Overcome Together! You, Me, and Us Together" will be held.

Due to social distancing quarantine guidelines, 39 people including medical staff dedicated to preventing the spread of COVID-19 and 10 people selected for COVID-19 related stories will be invited in person. The performance will be broadcast online via LG HelloVision and Eunpyeong-gu's YouTube channel.

Regarding the performance, there will be events such as selecting COVID-19 related stories, real-time online performance participation (video screen broadcast), and real-time comment participation events on Eunpyeong-gu's YouTube, allowing residents to participate and enjoy together.

Additionally, instead of outdoor activities, the "Pabari Cookie Making" program will be held for the whole family to enjoy at home.

Participants can make cookies using cookie kits distributed through online pre-registration or their own ingredients, then upload photos of their completed cookies on the Eunpyeong-gu blog. Works that receive the most "hearts" will be awarded local love gift certificates.

The making kits will be distributed to the first 3,000 people who apply in advance via the Eunpyeong-gu website and social media.

Finally, the "Visiting Busking" performance, where people can communicate and be comforted through culture with various genres such as music, dance, and performance to cope with occasional feelings of depression and lethargy caused by COVID-19, will be held with participation from local cultural artists and groups, organized by the Eunpyeong Cultural Foundation.

Through this event, gratitude will be expressed for the dedication and hard work of medical staff, vitality will be injected into the stagnant local cultural and arts scene, the local economy will be revitalized through the provision of local love gift certificates, and 40 jobs related to the event will be created, making it an event that brings energy to daily life exhausted by the prolonged spread of COVID-19.

An official from Eunpyeong-gu said, "We hope this will be a time to add vitality to daily life, even if just for a moment, by enjoying together through online SNS events and various cultural programs that everyone can participate in."
