[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae's admonition to senior prosecutors at the level of chief prosecutors and above, saying, "You must not become sunflowers that only look at the regime," stating, "If you take those words literally, it will lead to Yoon Seok-yeol and Han Dong-hoon later."

On the 10th, Jin posted on his Facebook, quoting Minister Choo's remarks, saying, "Prosecutors, you all know that this means you should become sunflowers that look at the regime, right?"

Earlier, Minister Choo urged the senior prosecutors at a personnel appointment report meeting held at the Gwacheon government complex to lead the organization by looking at the people, not the regime.

Minister Choo emphasized, "You must not become organizational egoists who only consider the pros and cons of the prosecution organization," and added, "Please design the future of the prosecution by looking solely at the people, not power or the organization."

Minister Choo also stressed that the recent personnel reshuffle was made with fairness and substance in mind. She explained, "We put more thought than ever into selecting those with the ability and qualities to successfully lead the prosecution reform that the people desire, focusing on fairness and substance," and added, "We prioritized balanced personnel appointments that favor criminal and trial division prosecutors who had been marginalized in promotions, resolving discrimination without bias toward specific departments."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice carried out promotions and transfers for 26 prosecutors at the chief prosecutor level on the 7th.
