Idol group Girls’ Generation has been chosen as the new face of major semiconductor chipmaker Intel Corporation's new product in Asia, announced the girls' agency SM Entertainment on Monday.

According to a press release by SM, Girls’ Generation will endorse the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processor family starting today by taking part in Intel's marketing activities covering seven Asian countries including Korea.

The girls will appear in various forms of promotional work including songs, 2D and 3D-format music videos, Internet sites and photographs.

A music video is set for release on January 17 and the group is set to sing it live at a press conference for the new product scheduled the following day.

“The upcoming music will be easy to sing along to while is in line with our style," the group was quoted as saying in the press release.

“We are expecting Girls’ Generation’s new music and music video to be an interesting and fun gift for PC consumers as well as the girls' fans in Korea and overseas since the video has well incorporated the new product's image of accentuating 'smartness' and 'visuals',” SM Entertainment CEO Kim Young-min said in the statement.

Composed of members Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri and Sooyoung, Girls' Generation made their debut in 2007 with first album "Into the New World" and is currently one of the top idol groups active in both Korea and Japan.
