Brown Eyed Girls to make debut in Japan next month

Korean pop group Brown Eyed Girls are gearing up for their Japan debut by holding a showcase in the country early next month, according to their agency Nega Network.

The four-member girl band will be performing at Tokyo's Astro Hall on August 5 in front of some 1,000 local fans, an official at Nega said.

"This is not just an ordinary showcase, it will be a place for them to officially announce their Japan debut," the official was also quoted as saying. "Major Japanese media outlets including TBS will be attending."

The girls will be performing five to six songs at the event including their smash hits "Abracadabra" and "Sign."

Brown Eyed Girls is composed of leader Jea, rapper Miryo and vocals Narsha and Gain. They debuted in 2006 with album "Your Story" and have since released two more studio albums and two mini-albums.

Their latest record "Sound G.", released in July 2009, produced hit single "Abracadabra" which swept various K-pop music charts last year.

Member Narsha is currently promoting her solo single "Bbi Ri Bba Bba," from her self-titled mini-album "Narsha" released earlier this month.
