The release date of female idol group Girls' Generation's new album, set for October 5, has been pushed back to mid-October.
An official with an album distributer told 10Asia over the phone on Friday, "We don't know the exact reason for it but the date has been delayed."
The official then said, "A new date has been set although it can't be revealed as of yet...... It isn't due to a big problem and will be around mid-October."
The girls' agency SM Entertainment was not reachable for comment but are said to be readying for an official statement on the situation.
The upcoming album, Girls' Generation's third studio release, has been one of the most-anticipated records of the latter half of the year due to their popularity in both Korea and overseas.
SM had been promoting the album since last week, releasing teaser photos of each of the group's members and the album's cover.
