Song Hyunggil Appointed as President of Gwangju Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation

Expert with Extensive Field Experience Appointed as President
Seven New Directors Also Named

Gwangju City awarded an appointment certificate to Song Hyunggil, President of the Gwangju Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation, on the 25th. The city also appointed seven directors, including Kang Daeyoung, Kim Minjung, Kim Youngsong, Park Chanwon, Yoon Kyungsun, Jo Jinhan, and Jo Chunggi, along with President Song. Gwangju City appointed Song Hyunggil, CEO of Korea Knowledge Development Institute, as President of the Gwangju Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation and awarded him an appointment certificate on August 25. Song's term will last two years, until August 24, 2027.

Previously, in June, the city formed an executive recommendation committee and conducted a public recruitment process for the foundation’s presidency, including document and interview screening, as well as eligibility checks. Along with President Song, the city also appointed seven directors: Kang Daeyoung, Kim Minjung, Kim Youngsong, Park Chanwon, Yoon Kyungsun, Jo Jinhan, and Jo Chunggi.

President Song is recognized as an expert who has operated lifelong education facilities since 2007. He completed both master's and doctoral programs in lifelong education at Gwangju University, founded the Gwangju Lifelong Educators Association, and served as its president, demonstrating both extensive field experience and expertise.

President Song stated, "I will do my best to ensure that every citizen can grow through lifelong learning," and added, "I will strive to establish the Gwangju Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation as a hub institution for lifelong education and an open platform that works together with citizens."
