Promotion of Youth Employment Support Center and Yeonjigonji Account
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the overall winner in the basic local government category for the Gyeonggi region at the '2025 Youth-Friendly Constitutional Awards'.
The Youth-Friendly Constitutional Awards, now in its 8th year since its inception in 2018, is an award presented by 'Youth and Future' under the National Assembly Secretariat, recognizing the achievements and contributions of organizations that have fostered youth-friendly environments. Previously, the city received the Communication Award at the 2023 event.
This award is based on the 'Youth Friendliness Index,' which comprehensively evaluates youth-friendliness in the areas of policy, legislation, support, and communication, with a focus on the operation of youth participation organizations, implementation of youth support projects, and hosting or participation in youth-related events.
The city explained that it received high marks for its continued implementation of various youth policies, such as the 'Youth Employment Support Center,' a specialized employment support agency established to assist youth with job searches and independence; the 'Yeonjigonji Account,' a Hwaseong-style policy addressing low birth rates; and the operation of the 'Youth Policy Council,' an organization for youth-led policy development.
The award ceremony will take place at the '9th Korea Youth Day Commemoration Ceremony' to be held in the main conference hall of the National Assembly Members' Office Building on September 13.
Jung Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, said, "I will do my utmost to support young people, who are the driving force behind Hwaseong City with its dynamic average age of 39, so that they can settle and thrive in the local community."
