Summer Program Offered in Collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education
Professor Lee Kyuman to Lead Classes, Current Students to Serve as Assistant Instructors
Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangchun) has been selected for the 2025 Creative Experience-Type Community-Linked Curriculum by the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, and will offer a "K-Pop Music Producer (Computer Composition Practice)" course for high school students during the summer vacation.
This program will run for five days from July 28 to August 1, selecting about 20 high school students to participate in immersive practical training sessions. The classes will be led by Professor Lee Kyuman from the Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University, with current students from the department participating as supporters and assistant instructors.
The course aims to provide an understanding of and hands-on experience in music production across the content industry, including K-Pop, films, dramas, advertisements, and games, by offering opportunities to create music using generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
This program focuses on supporting career exploration that is difficult to experience in regular classes by connecting high schools and universities, going beyond simple job shadowing. It is characterized by its practice-oriented education that combines academic and practical training, providing opportunities for both university and high school students to learn and grow together.
The Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University is the only department in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region specialized in training music producers and digital performance artists. Recently, the department has also been operating the Content Korea Lab (B-CON) project with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, aimed at cultivating AI music producers.
President Lee Sangchun emphasized, "This educational program in collaboration with local high schools is a meaningful practice where the university grows together with the local community and serves as a stepping stone for youth to reach out to the world," adding, "As a traditional leader in employment and entrepreneurship, Dongmyung University will continue to contribute to the region, the nation, and the world."
