On June 12, Uiseong County signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korail Tourism Development at the county office’s video conference room for the "development of railway-linked tourism products and expansion of tourist attraction."

This agreement aims to jointly plan and operate railway-centered tourism products and expand the foundation for attracting tourists by connecting Uiseong’s unique local resources?such as traditional markets, rural experiences, and tourist attractions?with the nationwide railway network and tourism infrastructure owned by Korail Tourism Development.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will: ▲ support the development and operation of railway tourism products linked to Uiseong’s signature festivals; ▲ promote cooperative projects to attract domestic and international tourists through railway connections; ▲ discover joint projects to realize regional coexistence and social value; ▲ conduct joint promotional marketing for the regional brand and content; and ▲ establish a mutual cooperation system to promote a sustainable tourism industry.

Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong County, stated, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to enhance both transportation accessibility and tourism convenience," emphasizing, "We will create a new turning point for Uiseong tourism through differentiated content that organically links railways and local resources."

Meanwhile, Korail Tourism Development, a public enterprise specializing in railway travel, plans and operates a variety of tourism products connected to major tourist hubs nationwide. Through this agreement, the company plans to develop specialized products with Uiseong County, such as rural tourism, experiential trips, and festival tours.

Uiseong County expects that this initiative will significantly increase the number of stay-type tourists and have a substantial effect on revitalizing the local economy in the future.
