Joo Gwangdeok Emphasizes Support for Volunteers' Pride in Their Activities
Reflecting on the Significance of Unity Among Over 900 Volunteers
Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced that the "2025 Namyangju City Volunteers Unity Sports Competition," organized by the Namyangju City Volunteer Center (Chairman Joo Gwangdeok, hereafter referred to as the Center), was successfully held on the 12th at the Namyangju Sports and Culture Center Indoor Gymnasium.

This sports competition was organized to provide volunteers, who have been dedicated in the field, with an opportunity to recharge. It also aimed to strengthen camaraderie and bonds among volunteers, thereby revitalizing volunteer activities within the local community.
The event was attended by Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor of Namyangju, the Chairman of the Namyangju City Council, provincial and city council members, and approximately 900 volunteers from 81 volunteer organizations. The program included a commemorative ceremony, the sports competition, and a talent show.
Additionally, side events such as face painting by the Art Volunteer Group and welcome tea with flower tea by the Neutinamu Volunteer Group were held, allowing people of all ages to enjoy the event.

Joo Gwangdeok, Mayor and Chairman of the Center, said, "I would like to thank all the volunteers who generously share their time and dedication for their neighbors throughout the community. I hope this sports competition serves as a time for everyone to recharge, and I will continue to provide unwavering support so that volunteers can take pride in their activities."
Currently, Namyangju City has approximately 207,000 registered volunteers, who are actively engaged in a variety of activities, including seasonal warmth-sharing campaigns, care for the underprivileged, environmental clean-up, rural labor support, and home repair volunteering.
