Presenting Solutions to Local Issues Under the Theme "Embracing Value, Dreaming Dreams"
Applications Accepted Until July 3... Eight Teams to Be Selected for On-site Evaluation
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will host the "Hwaseong Special City Youth Social Venture Idea Contest" until July 3, aiming to foster the next generation of social economy leaders to address local community issues.
Now in its 10th year, this contest is designed to help local youth recognize the social values of cooperation and solidarity, cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit in the social economy, and develop the capacity to solve local problems.
This year's contest, under the theme "Embracing Value, Dreaming Dreams," is calling for ideas that can address key community issues such as regional balance, environment, labor, school cooperatives, and appropriate IT technology.
Youth who are either registered residents of Hwaseong City or currently attending middle or high school within the city may apply in teams of three to eight members. The application period runs from June 16 to July 3.
After the first round of document screening, the city will select eight teams. On July 18, an on-site evaluation will be held at the Convention Hall of the Self-Realization Center at Jangan University to determine the winning teams. Prizes totaling 1.5 million won will be awarded, divided into grand prize, top excellence prize, excellence prize, and encouragement prize. In addition, separate prizes will be given to the teachers of the grand prize and excellence prize teams.
Meanwhile, to mark the 10th anniversary of the contest, the city will set up promotional booths for social economy enterprises and host various events at the on-site evaluation venue.
