According to Hanam City on June 12, this job fair was jointly organized by Hanam City, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, and the Hanam Employment Welfare Plus Center on June 11. The number of job seekers who visited the event reached approximately 2,300, marking a remarkable 227% increase compared to the previous year.
Job seekers explored real job opportunities through one-on-one interviews and customized employment consultations. A total of 80 companies participated, including 50 companies conducting on-site recruitment and 30 companies participating in online recruitment, offering a variety of hiring programs.
On the day of the event, key figures from the political and business sectors, including Lee Hyunjae, mayor of Hanam, Kim Seongtae, president of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Yang Seungjun, head of the Seongnam branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Han Byeongjun, vice president of the Korea Federation of SMEs, attended to encourage job seekers and participating companies and support the revitalization of local employment.
Through this job fair, a total of 23 people were hired on the spot through on-site interviews, and 111 candidates passed the first document screening and are now preparing for follow-up interviews. The number of interviews conducted on-site reached 964, proving the fair's effectiveness as a practical bridge between job seekers and companies.
In addition, 102 job seekers submitted applications to the 30 companies participating in online recruitment and are preparing for the second round of screening. With these tangible hiring outcomes, the job fair was evaluated as an effective employment platform connecting job seekers and companies.
The event brought together a wide range of job seekers, including young people, middle-aged individuals, women with career experience, and veterans, realizing the value of 'inclusive employment.' In cooperation with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, Hanam Employment Welfare Plus Center, and the Korea Industrial Technology Association, tailored support systems and programs for each group were provided, ensuring a job seeker-centered approach.
Not only large corporations such as Coway, Coupang, and GS Retail, but also mid-sized and small companies like Cesco, Cymac, and Neontek participated, conducting one-on-one interviews and on-site HR consultations. In particular, nine 'truly outstanding SMEs' selected by the Korea Federation of SMEs also joined, providing an opportunity to share information about excellent companies.
What made the atmosphere at the venue even more lively were various practical consulting sessions and experiential booths. Professional consultations on financial planning, entrepreneurship, and career transition coaching helped job seekers with their practical job preparation, while a citizen-participation talk show became a forum for sharing real employment concerns.
Experiential booths such as job tarot readings, aroma emotion oil therapy, and the 'Insaengnecut' photo zone helped relieve psychological tension and energized the venue.
Relevant organizations, including the Hanam Welfare Center for the Disabled and the Hanam Senior Employment Support Center of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, also participated, providing customized counseling for vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and seniors, further enhancing the inclusiveness and public value of the fair.
Hanam City plans to develop this job fair not as a one-time event, but as a sustainable employment connection platform. Even after the event, the city will set a follow-up management period until the end of the year to continuously support connections between job seekers and participating companies based on submitted resumes, and will analyze employment outcomes to inform future employment policies.
Additionally, Hanam City plans to do its utmost to promote employment through internship programs that provide up to 3.6 million won to companies and 600,000 won to workers, targeting middle-aged individuals and women with career experience.
Mayor Lee Hyunjae stated, "This job fair was a meaningful event that provided job seekers with opportunities for on-site interviews and companies with opportunities to meet outstanding talent," adding, "For the city's development, Hanam must become a city overflowing with jobs that satisfies both citizens and companies."
Mayor Lee further emphasized, "Going forward, we will provide more employment opportunities and stepping stones for capacity building to job seekers, and achieve sustainable urban development through policies that attract companies and drive the growth of local businesses."
