Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province will host the "2025 Yeongju Ai! Exciting Festival - Spring Outing Family Walking Event" at the Yeongju National Sports Center starting at 9 a.m. on June 14.
This event, designed as a citizen-participatory family festival to address the challenges of population decline and the risk of local extinction, was originally scheduled to take place at Seocheon Riverside Park but has been moved indoors due to a rain forecast.
The event will feature a children's choir performance, family games, recreational activities, and experience booths (such as balloon making, traditional Korean sweets, diffuser and eco-bag making, among others). Related organizations in Yeongju City will also participate, offering programs focused on multiculturalism, youth, and women.
The main stage will showcase a traditional performance by the Serotonin Art Troupe, which has received an official invitation to the "2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival."
A Yeongju City official stated, "Although the walking event has been canceled due to rain, we aim to create enjoyable memories for families through a variety of indoor programs."
