On June 12, Samil PwC and the Korea Battery Industry Association announced that they will jointly host a seminar on the theme of "Latest US·EU Trade Policies and Response Strategies, K-Battery: Finding Opportunities in Crisis" at 2:00 PM on June 25 at Amore Hall, 2nd floor of their headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Recently, the domestic battery industry has been facing a range of complex challenges, including a slowdown in electric vehicle demand, raw material price volatility, global supply chain restructuring, and the rapid proliferation of Chinese lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. In particular, stabilizing supply chains and ensuring sustainability have emerged as key factors for corporate competitiveness, making strategic responses to these issues more urgent than ever.
This seminar has been organized to explore the direction the domestic battery industry should take amid changing industrial conditions and to share practical response strategies to global policy and regulatory changes. Industry experts from Samil PwC with expertise in trade and industry, as well as government officials, will participate as speakers to provide insights from various perspectives.
The seminar will consist of a total of five presentations. First, Kim Seungcheol, Senior Research Fellow at Samil PwC Management Research Institute, will deliver a lecture on "Global EV and ESS Market Outlook." Park Jaejung, Director of the Battery, Electricity, and Electronics Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will present on "Battery Supply Chain Policy Measures."
Next, So Juhyun, Partner in the Tax Division at Samil PwC, will speak on "Current Status and Response to Trump Trade Regulations." Lee Bohwa, Partner at the Sustainability Platform, will present on "EU Regulatory Response One Point: EUBR, DPP, Omnibus." Choi Jungul, Partner at PwC Consulting, will discuss "Traceability Management System for Supply Chain Regulatory Response." Finally, all presenters will participate in a Q&A session, followed by 1:1 consulting sessions for member companies who register in advance.
