"We Respect the Decision...
Hope for Mutual Growth and Cooperation"
Javis & Villains announced on the 12th that the Supreme Prosecutors' Office dismissed the re-appeal filed by the Korea Tax Accountants Association regarding the alleged violation of the Certified Tax Accountant Act on May 29.
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office stated, "We have decided as ordered, as there is no evidence to recognize that the non-prosecution disposition and the decision of the appellate body were unjust." With this, the legal dispute that began with the association's complaint in March 2021 has concluded after four years and two months.
Previously, the Korea Tax Accountants Association and the Korea Certified Tax Accountant Examination Association filed a complaint, claiming that SamzzumSam was filing tax returns without proper tax agent qualifications. However, in August 2022, the police determined that there was no unauthorized tax agency and decided not to refer the case for prosecution.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office also issued a non-prosecution disposition in November 2023, citing lack of evidence. Despite the association subsequently filing appeals and re-appeals with the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the conclusion that the SamzzumSam service is lawful remained unchanged.
Javis & Villains stated, "We welcome and respect the prosecution's decision," and added, "We hope that the association will end these meaningless attacks and move toward a path of coexistence and cooperation."
