The general insurance industry is making multifaceted efforts to expand its role as a safety net in response to demographic changes such as low birth rates and population aging. To provide comprehensive risk coverage, the industry plans to expand insurance products related to childbirth, such as coverage for infertility treatment and support for postpartum care, and to promote senior insurance in preparation for the prolonged care needs of the elderly.
The General Insurance Social Contribution Council is actively working to address population issues by carrying out various social contribution initiatives, including the "Oocyte Cryopreservation Procedure Support Project," the "Multiple Birth Child Safety Insurance Support Project," and the "Safety Device Support Project for Elderly Drivers."
Chairman Lee stated, "Population issues are an important challenge that all members of our society must work together to address for a sustainable future," and added, "We will faithfully fulfill the roles and responsibilities required of the general insurance industry and actively contribute to overcoming the crises arising from demographic changes."
Chairman Lee designated Korean Re and NH NongHyup Property & Casualty Insurance as the next participating organizations.
