Capturing Daejeon's Landmarks at the Daejeon Film Studio, Hannam University, and More
The Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced that a community screening of the film "Soju War," which was filmed in Daejeon, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on May 30 at Lotte Cinema Daejeon Central Branch.
"Soju War" is a production that received the 2023 Daejeon film and drama incentive support, with more than 30% of its scenes filmed in Daejeon. The conference room of "Gukbo Soju" and Jongrok's office, which appear in the film, were shot at the Daejeon Film Studio set. Major locations in Daejeon, such as Hannam University and Daejeon Shinhan Cooperative Federation Central Training Center, were also used for location filming.
The special screening for Daejeon citizens is open to all residents, and applications to attend can be made via the QR code included on the event poster.
In Daejeon, approximately 30 films and dramas are shot each year through the film and drama incentive support program.
Director Lee Eunhak stated, "By providing opportunities for citizens to watch films shot in Daejeon, such as 'Soju War,' together, we aim to promote the growth of the local video industry and strengthen cultural communication with the community."
