On May 13, Seongnam City, Korea Railroad Corporation, and the Seongnam City Homeless Comprehensive Support Center signed a "Business Agreement on Homeless Job Cooperation Project" and officially began supporting job opportunities for homeless individuals.

Under this agreement, the six homeless participants will be assigned cleaning duties in the Moran Station area for six months, from June 1 to November 30.

They will work three hours a day, totaling 60 hours per month, and receive a monthly wage of 880,000 won. The wages will be paid by Korea Railroad Corporation, while the Seongnam City Homeless Comprehensive Support Center will be responsible for personnel management.

Among the participants, four are long-term homeless individuals who have been homeless for more than six years, raising expectations that this project will serve as a significant turning point toward their self-reliance. These individuals expressed their willingness to participate in the job program after several rounds of street counseling and persuasion conducted by Seongnam City and the Homeless Comprehensive Support Center around Moran Station and under the Yeosu Overpass in March and April.

Seongnam City plans to support the homeless participants by helping them move into the self-support facility "Anna's House" or by providing temporary accommodation in a gosiwon worth about 350,000 won per month to help stabilize their housing situation.

The job support project for homeless individuals around Moran Station first began in 2022 and marks its fourth year in 2025.

To date, a total of 16 homeless individuals have participated, with 11 successfully returning to society by being connected to public work, shopping bag manufacturing (Restart Project), employment at local factories, or other public work opportunities.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Seongnam City carried out administrative enforcement on 10 homeless tents installed under the Yeosu Overpass, relocating all eight homeless individuals residing there. The city plans to install a fence in the area to prevent the installation of additional homeless facilities and will continue post-management efforts to help these individuals settle in the community.

A Seongnam City official stated, "This agreement is significant not only as a means of providing jobs, but also as practical support for the self-reliance and reintegration of homeless individuals into the community," adding, "We will continue to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups through sustained attention and effort."
