Busan Gudok Library Selected for 'Humanities on the Road' Project

Youth Humanities Programs Including Lectures and Field Trips
Fostering Character Development through Literature

Gudok Library, operated by the Busan Metropolitan City, and headed by Jang Malsuk, has been selected for the '2025 Humanities on the Road Project,' which is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and jointly organized by the Arts Council Korea and the Korean Library Association.

'Humanities on the Road' is a nationwide humanities promotion project. This year, 779 libraries across the country applied, and 500 libraries were selected as participating institutions.

With this selection, Gudok Library plans to run humanities programs that visit schools, including eight lectures on topics such as "What is Humanities?", "Reading the Iliad through Mythology," "Experiencing The Phantom of the Opera through Musicals," and "Learning Empathy and Courage through Novels." The program also includes one visit to a mystery literature museum and one follow-up meeting.

Jang Malsuk, Director of Gudok Library, stated, "Through this project, we have created an opportunity for young people to experience the humanities in a more accessible and engaging way," and added, "We will continue to expand cultural and educational programs for youth."
