On the 30th, Sergio Alfieri, the chief surgeon at Rome's Gemelli Hospital where the Pope was admitted, said that when he recently visited the Pope, who is recovering at the Vatican City's 'Santa Marta' residence, the Pope was in a "lively" condition.

The 88-year-old Pope Francis was hospitalized last month due to pneumonia in both lungs, received treatment for 38 days, and was discharged on the 23rd.

During the visit three days after his discharge, Dr. Alfieri noted that the Pope showed a "truly remarkable improvement" after returning to the Vatican, adding, "I believe he will recover up to 90% of his previous condition, if not 100%."

Dr. Alfieri also stated that the Pope's voice, weakened by the effects of oxygen therapy, is regaining strength, and his dependence on oxygen devices is decreasing.

Dr. Alfieri continues to communicate daily with the Pope's personal medical team even after discharge. He also plans to visit the Vatican weekly to monitor the Pope's health.

The Pope is reportedly advised to avoid external activities for at least two months and focus on rest and rehabilitation.
