Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will operate the ‘Lifelong Education Voucher’ program to expand lifelong learning opportunities for residents and support their capacity development.
This year, 3,200 residents will be selected to receive an annual tuition support of 200,000 KRW, enabling them to enjoy various educational opportunities.
The voucher is a pass that can be used to take various courses such as language, health, hobbies, and certification, and can be freely used online and offline at over 100 lifelong education institutions registered in the district.
Anyone aged 19 or older residing in Yeongdeungpo-gu can apply from March 10 to March 31. Applications can be submitted via the ‘Local Gift Certificate chak’ app or by visiting a nearby community service center or the Daerim-dong YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center.
Priority selection will be given to recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, low-income households, and single-parent families. Those who have benefited from similar programs such as the National Lifelong Education Voucher are restricted from applying simultaneously.
The ‘Observer Operation System’ will be implemented to allow residents who wish to directly verify the lottery process, and the selection results will be individually notified on April 18. Selected residents must receive their voucher cards by May 30 through the ‘Local Gift Certificate chak’ app or by visiting the Woori Bank Yeongdeungpo-gu Office branch.
The voucher can be used until December 15, and detailed information such as usage locations can be found on the district office website’s ‘Our District News’ bulletin board.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “This is a great opportunity for residents passionate about learning, and we hope for active interest and participation. We will continue to expand support so that more residents can enjoy lifelong learning opportunities.”
