Governor Kim Taeheum: "Impeachment of President Yoon Should Be Dismissed Due to Damage to Fairness and Legitimacy" Kim Taeheum Chungnam Governor

Kim Taeheum, Governor of South Chungcheong Province, argued on the 26th that "the impeachment of President Yoon Sukyeol, which has undermined fairness and legitimacy, should be dismissed."

Governor Kim, through his post titled "Kim Taeheum's Thoughts" on his social media (Facebook) that day, urged the Constitutional Court to dismiss the impeachment, stating, "We must not incite division and conflict among the people."

Governor Kim said, "I oppose both martial law and impeachment, and now only the Constitutional Court's ruling remains for the impeachment," adding, "Since fairness and procedural legitimacy were lost during the impeachment process, it is only right that it be dismissed."

He then mentioned ▲the withdrawal of the insurrection charge as grounds for impeachment ▲adoption of prosecution interrogation records as evidence ▲ideological bias of the judges ▲issues with the investigative authority of the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, and claimed, "This impeachment is the result of a scenario to oust President Yoon under the pretext of martial law and to make Democratic Party's Lee Jaemyung president."

He continued, "The impeachment trial of a sitting president must follow constitutional values and procedures," emphasizing, "The Constitutional Court must not incite division and conflict among the people. For the future of the nation, I hope for a wise and fair judgment."
