Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 11th that it successfully held regional education development special zone touring meetings from the 4th to the 8th in four areas: Soheul, Ildong, Yeongjung, and Gunnae.

These meetings were organized to share the vision for educational development with education stakeholders such as teachers and parents, and to introduce major projects related to Pocheon City's education development special zones.
During the meetings, a total of 12 detailed initiatives were introduced, including the expansion of the Pocheon Aebom Neulbom policy, one-stop integrated support services tailored for students, the promotion of an international multicultural alternative school to support multicultural students, and the operation of a career and academic coaching center.
Through this, education stakeholders enhanced their understanding of Pocheon City's education development special zone projects and expressed various opinions for future policy formulation.
One parent said, "It was very beneficial to hear directly about Pocheon City's education development strategy and to share opinions together," adding, "I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future."
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City stated, "The opinions gathered through the meetings will serve as an important foundation for concretizing Pocheon City's unique education development plans," and added, "We will continue to strengthen communication with citizens to create a differentiated education development special zone model."
Meanwhile, based on the various opinions raised at these meetings, Pocheon City plans to supplement and improve policies to enhance the quality of education and create an educational environment that satisfies students, teachers, and parents alike.
Additionally, based on the diverse voices of citizens presented at this touring meeting, an education development special zone grand debate will be held at Banwol Art Hall on December 17. The city expects the grand debate to increase citizens' understanding of education policies and to form a practical consensus.
