Dobong-gu 1-Person Household Support Center with 47㎡ Area
Equipped with Sofa, TV, and More... Designed as a Multifunctional Cultural Space
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has created a space for single-person households.
As a complex cultural space where residents can relax and watch movies together with neighbors, the district expects this space to become a community hub for single-person households in the area.
At the end of last month, the district announced that it established ‘Singgeulbeonggeul Sarangbang: Bongrangchae’ within the Dobong-gu Single-Person Household Support Center (Madle-ro 664-17, 3rd floor) and began full-scale operations this month.
An area of approximately 47㎡ inside the center was designed to resemble a caf?. Sofas and other furnishings were provided to create a comfortable environment for free communication. A TV was also installed so that various videos, including movies, can be watched together to share culture.
On September 30, October 2, and October 4, the ‘Mind Power Station’ program, which facilitates communication through books, was held. On October 4, the ‘My Secret Cinema’ program was operated, where participants watched a movie and engaged in discussions.
Kang Jin-ah, Director of the Dobong-gu Family Center, stated, “Going forward, in addition to programs organized by the center, we plan to support and operate self-help groups among single-person households to expand relationships centered around the center.”
The center operates Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. (lunch break). Anyone in need of rest can use the space.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “‘Singgeulbeonggeul Sarangbang, Bongrangchae’ is hoped to be a place where people can rest and gain new energy,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create related infrastructure for the happy lives of single-person households.”
