Connecting Lives, Bridging Generations... BMC Hosts Generation-Link Memorial Story Cultural Exchange

Busan Urban Corporation, A Platform for Generational Empathy Between Local Role Model Seniors and Young Creators

Five Seniors' Remarkable Life Stories... First Released as Video Autobiographies and Webtoons

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) successfully concluded the urban regeneration cultural content program, "Generation-Connecting Memorial Story Cultural Exchange," on the 26th.

This event, held as part of the "Generation-Connecting Memorial Story Project," featured the first public release of digital content documenting the life stories of five local elders in the fields of refugee capital, national merit, and community. It provided a platform for intergenerational communication and empathy.

The event was attended by over 70 participants, including exemplary local elders, young creators, local youth, experts in related fields, and officials from relevant organizations. The program included screenings of video autobiographies, webtoon and photo exhibitions, the production of record booklets, and networking among participants.

The content produced will be gradually released to the public through BMC’s official online promotional channels, and will also be introduced at various internal and external events and festivals, including urban regeneration hub facilities. In particular, the webtoon will be exhibited at the youth cultural space "Cheongnyeonjakdangso," where the event was held, until the end of October.

Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "The shining moments of each elder’s life have been realized as assets through encounters with the youth. Through the Generation-Connecting Memorial Story Project, we will preserve the life records of local elders as cultural heritage and take the lead in fostering a warm and valuable cultural community."

Launched for the first time this year, the "Generation-Connecting Memorial Story Project" is a program in which talented young people in the content field follow and document the life journeys of exemplary elders in the region, sharing and passing them down across generations. Next year, the program plans to expand its scope to include more fields and participants.
