Park Sung-min "Choo Mi-ae's penny wise, pound foolish... Seems to be considering running in the general election"

With Kim Yong-tae: "Choo Mi-ae Should Be Invited as the Election Committee Chairperson"

Former President Moon Jae-in and former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon are causing turmoil in the opposition as former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae revealed that they pressured her to resign. In this context, Park Sung-min, former Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party and former Blue House youth secretary under the Moon administration, criticized it as a "penny wise, pound foolish" mistake.

On the 5th, Park, speaking on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' said, "Some supporters are reacting strongly and responding to her words, which may seem good in the short term, but the undeniable fact is that she served as Minister of Justice in the Moon administration."

Former Minister Chu revealed last month on OhmyTV that former President Moon pressured her to resign, and on the 3rd on KBS radio, she stated that former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon pressured her to step down for the by-elections, escalating tensions within the party.

Park analyzed that the background of Chu's remarks is to gauge the timing for her political comeback. He said, "Judging from her recent appearances on broadcasts, it seems she is considering running in the general election. It appears she is thinking about playing some role, and thus, the timing or stepping stone for her political comeback is actually necessary now. In that sense, I think she is using former President Moon and former leader Lee."

He added, "I believe it is morally wrong to play this truth game against the president she served. Looking at former President Moon's personnel style, he was someone who maximally respected the authority of his ministers. Former Minister Chu certainly had enough opportunities."

Former Supreme Council member of the People Power Party Kim Yong-tae said, "In the last presidential election, we had former Minister Chu as an honorary co-chair of the campaign committee, and I think we should also have her as a campaign chair for the upcoming general election," expressing a positive view toward the ruling party.

Regarding the background of Chu's remarks, former Council member Kim said, "It is obvious that she is making these revelations against the president she served. Ultimately, it looks like she is trying to curry favor with Representative Lee Jae-myung to secure a role in next year's general election. This is a very wrong example to show to younger politicians."
