Korean single malt whiskey crafted by master distiller Changsoo Kim will be launched in convenience stores.

GS Retail announced on the 2nd that starting from the 10th of this month, 28 bottles out of 276 bottles of whiskey matured and bottled in the third cask (wooden barrel used for aging whiskey) of Changsoo Kim Whiskey will be released through GS25 convenience stores and GS The Fresh supermarkets.

Changsoo Kim Whiskey is Korea's first single malt whiskey distilled, aged, and bottled at the Changsoo Kim Whiskey Distillery in Gimpo. Last year, the first cask was released as a limited edition in April, followed by the second cask in September, sparking overnight open runs among whiskey enthusiasts.

GS Retail secured the largest quantity of Changsoo Kim Whiskey 3rd Cask among major distributors and will collaborate with Changsoo Kim Whiskey to present special events.

GS Retail will launch a special edition product including a dedicated glass engraved with the Changsoo Kim Whiskey emblem, and at the GS25 DX Lab store in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, Changsoo Kim will attend the launch event and hold a signing session from 2 PM on the 10th.

The Changsoo Kim Whiskey 3rd Cask was created by shaving and charring the inside of a cask previously used for aging wine, then aging the whiskey to maximize complex aromas. It was bottled using the cask strength method, filling the bottle directly with the original spirit taken from the cask.

The Changsoo Kim Whiskey 3rd Cask has a volume of 700ml and an alcohol content of 50.5%. The GS Retail Special Edition product is priced at 250,000 KRW.
