bhc Chicken Sales During 3-Day Holiday Increase by 50% Compared to Last Year's Chuseok Period
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] It has been revealed that chicken, a popular snack among the public, was in high demand again this Chuseok holiday.
According to an analysis of chicken sales by bhc Chicken during this Chuseok, the sales volume over the three days including Chuseok day (October 1), the day before (September 30), and the day after (October 2) increased by 50% compared to the same period last year, the company announced on the 6th.
Sales also increased by 10% compared to the three-day Lunar New Year holiday this year (Lunar New Year day, the day before, and the day after). Additionally, it was found that for this Chuseok, Lunar New Year, and last year’s Chuseok, sales were highest on the day after the holiday rather than on the holiday itself.
bhc Chicken analyzed that the high sales during this Chuseok holiday were largely influenced by the increase in contactless (untact) consumption and the growing number of people choosing to spend the holiday at home.
Furthermore, with the development of various menu options providing consumers with a wide range of choices and the activation of e-coupons expanding delivery consumption, chicken is expected to gain even more attention as a food enjoyed with family during holidays in the future.
Meanwhile, during the five-day Chuseok holiday period, the day with the highest chicken sales was the fourth day of the holiday, October 3, which is understood to be due to many people seeking chicken to ease the sadness of the holiday’s end.
The most sold menu item was the representative menu ‘Ppurinkle,’ followed by the partial meat menu ‘Combo Series.’ In particular, the Combo Series has maintained its position as the second best-selling item since its launch, gaining great popularity especially among enthusiasts, continuing the partial meat trend sweeping the industry.
A bhc Chicken official said, “Looking at actual holiday sales, Lunar New Year sales were higher than last year’s Chuseok, and this Chuseok sales were higher than this year’s Lunar New Year, showing a trend of increasing demand for chicken during holiday periods year after year,” adding, “This is thanks to the franchise owners who quietly stayed on site to provide customers with delicious and clean chicken even during the holiday season.”
