Japan produces 'Jang Keun-suk bread'

A bread product under actor Jang Keun-suk's name has been produced in Japan.

An official with Jang's promoter Tree J Company said on Tuesday that Japanese convenience store franchise Lawson has launched a bread product using Jang's name as the brand.

The product comes in two flavors -- mocha coffee melon and bulgogi -- while Jang's name and photo are on the wrapping.

Nonetheless, the release of a bread product under Jang's name comes as no surprise. He has been one of the most popular Korean celebrities in Japan since shooting to stardom through 2009 drama "He's Beautiful."

Just last year, his photobook was the best-selling item of 2011 under the prestigious Oricon chart's category for idol-image DVDs.

He has led a successful singing career in the country as well, his single "Let me cry" topping Oricon's weekly chart to make him the first male artist in 30 years to top the chart with a debut single.
