"Baek Dong-soo" puts up strong fight for top spot on TV charts

Historical drama "The Warrior, Baek Dong-soo" [SBS]

SBS historical drama "The Warrior, Baek Dong-soo" pulled in strong TV ratings once again to score its fifth consecutive win on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup.

According to figures released by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Wednesday, "Baek Dong-soo," starring Ji Chang-wook and Yoo Seung-ho, drew in an average viewership rating of 18.7 percent, increasing by 2.2 percentage points from the previous week.

Numbers by AGB Nielsen Media Research showed slightly lower ratings this week, bringing a mean score of 17.5 percent to indicate to a rise of 1.5 percentage points from last week.

This week's episode focused on how Hwang Jin-joo (Yoon Soy) sacrifices her life to repay Baek Dong-soo (Ji).

Coming in second place was MBC's historical series "Gyebaek" with viewership ratings in the ten to 13 percent range, while KBS' "Spy Myung-Wol" followed behind with ratings in the five percent mark.
