Ballad singer Kim Bum-soo will hold a live concert in Japan this week, according to CNR Media on Wednesday.

CNR, which will co-host the event with its Japanese partner Yamaha Music Entertainment A&R of Yamaha Group, announced through a press release that the upcoming concert titled “2010 Solista Live Tour in Japan” will be held in Osaka on December 3 and in Tokyo the following day.


Kim will perform many of his hit songs including ballads from the original soundtrack to well-known Korean dramas in Japan such as “Winter Sonata (2002),” “Stairway to Heaven (2003)” and recently “Giant (2010)" in front of some 4,000 fans.

Kim, 31, debuted with album “A Promise” in 1999 and rose to fame with his second album “Hello Good Bye (2000)” which was also released in English and ranked at No.51 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2001.


His third album “Missing You” in 2002, which contained a hit track of the same title, made him famous throughout Asia after selected as soundtrack for the then-hit SBS drama “Stairway to Heaven."


He has so far released seven albums and also participated in the original soundtrack to Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won starrer “Secret Garden,” with song “Appear.”
