Girls' Generation member Yuri down with influenza flu

Girls' Generation will be performing without member Yuri for the next few days due to the singer falling ill with the influenza flu, according to her agency SM Entertainment on Friday.

SM explained that the singer began showing signs of a cold on Thursday night and after visiting the hospital, it was confirmed that the singer had infected the H1N1 influenza virus.

The girls will be performing this weekend on KBS' televised music program "Music Bank" without Yuri under the doctor's recommendation that the singer rest before resuming her activities.

The K-pop idol group is currently promoting their latest single "Oh!" from their second full-length album which has been topping music shows and various charts for several weeks.

Yuri, 19, made her debut in 2007 in the nine-member girl group who made a splashing debut into the music industry with their first single album titled "Into the New World."

She recently got accepted as a freshman to Chung-Ang University where she will major in theater.
