Forty New Management Leaders Promoted
Five in Their 30s, Female Executive Ratio Rises to 27.5%
CJ Group has placed young and highly specialized key talents at the forefront to secure future growth engines. The company has also made a clear shift toward appointing more female leaders, taking into account the characteristics of each business sector.
On November 18, CJ Group announced its regular executive appointments, promoting 40 new management leaders, including five in their 30s. This is nearly double the number compared to last year, signaling the group's strong commitment to generational change. CJ Group described the appointments as "bold talent recruitment to achieve mid-term strategies and accelerate global growth."
Notably, five new management leaders in their 30s, including two female leaders aged 36, were promoted, making the strengthening of young leadership a central aspect of this round of appointments. Among all those promoted, 45% were born after the 1980s. This reflects a strategy to actively position next-generation leaders to drive change and innovation within each business unit.

The trend of increasing the number of female executives is also evident. Of the 40 new management leaders, 11 are women (27.5%), an increase from the previous year. As a result, the overall proportion of female executives within the group has risen from 16% to 19%. In particular, Olive Young (where women account for 54% of customers) and the CJ Commerce Division (46%) now have a majority of female executives, which is seen as enhancing both diversity and competitiveness within the organization.
This round of appointments also provided growth opportunities to outstanding talents with specialized expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and data, regardless of age or rank, as well as to those who will lead the group's global expansion. CJ Group aims to use this approach to strengthen the practical capabilities needed to expand future businesses and target global markets.
A CJ Group representative stated, "Each affiliate CEO led the selection of new management leaders capable of driving change and innovation in their respective businesses. We are giving young talents with a strong desire for growth the opportunity to take on new challenges. Through this, we will not only achieve the group's mid-term strategies but also strengthen preparations for the future."
Meanwhile, CJ Group has also reorganized its holding company structure in conjunction with these executive appointments. Similar or adjacent functions have been integrated at the group level to maximize synergy. The core functions of the holding company have been clearly defined as group business portfolio reinforcement (Portfolio Strategy Group), future strategy (Future Planning Group), strategic business support (Strategic Support Group and Compliance Support Group), and talent and culture innovation (HR Group). Through these changes, CJ Group aims to strengthen collaboration between functions, increase the speed of organizational operations, optimize the business structure needed to achieve mid-term goals, and pursue future growth strategies. A CJ Group representative emphasized, "This measure is intended to enhance synergy and decision-making speed among core functions, enabling timely responses to rapidly changing business environments."
